Age Concern Birmingham has a wide range of job opportunities offering the satisfaction of helping to improve the quality of life for older people in Birmingham. We also offer a comprehensive training and development programme, to enable staff to develop their skills and knowledge. We currently have the following vacancies:

Trading Assistant [Insurance]
To assist the Trading Supervisor in all aspects of Age Concern Trading [Insurance] activities, including promoting and arranging insurances and selling associated trading products to personal callers. In the occasional absence of the Trading Supervisor, to ensure Financial Services Authority regulatory compliance at all times throughout the Trading team.

To respond to requests for assistance and to ensure that this addresses the individual’s specific needs. To work with colleagues to implement new trading products as appropriate and to provide flexible cover at appropriate Trading outlets within Age Concern Birmingham.


Location: Based at 198 Corporation Street, Birmingham with occasional cover at other locations Closing Date: 27th November 2008

Day Services Assistant
To provide assistance within the day centre, which is open two days per week, promoting independence and facilitating social interaction for older people within a user led environment.

To assist with a range of day activities in a stimulating social setting and to serve lunch and refreshments throughout the day, ensuring the kitchen is a clean and safe environment.

Relevant skills and experience are required
