Legacies
Although we aim to get as much of our funding as possible from grants and other sources, this does not provide all the money we require to sustain the quality and extent of the services needed by older people in Birmingham. Many of the things that we do are reliant upon voluntary donations to enable them to continue.
One of the ways in which you could support our work is by leaving us a legacy in your will. Every year, many older people pass away without having made a will and quite often they have no family and so their estate goes to the government. Everyone who remembers Age Concern Birmingham in their will is making sure that an older person sometime, somewhere will get the helping hand they need. A legacy of £15,000 would for example, fund a befriending scheme for 3 years. We know from our experience of operating befriending schemes that this would touch the lives of almost 1000 older people living in Birmingham. To find out more information to enable you to support the lives of older people in Birmingham, please call our advice and information centre on 0121 236 2197 |
