Caring for someone can be very rewarding but Carers often put their own needs, well-being, interests and social life to one side to focus on the person or people they are caring for. Carers can also feel isolated at times due to their caring responsibilities and this can have an impact on their own health & well-being.

Age Concern Birmingham has set up a new service for unpaid Carers in North Birmingham. This service takes on a befriending approach while offering Carers 1-1 support sessions which can take place within their home or at a venue of their choice.

The main purpose of the service is to look into the holistic needs of the Carer by providing them with suitable advice, support & information on benefits, services & activities that take place in their local area.  These support sessions will also address the obstacles that sometimes hinder Carers from getting to enjoy an event or a hobby including finances, locality & time.

If you are caring for a spouse, relative or friend then call Age Concern Birmingham to find out about the support available on 0121 362 3650.
