We currently have the following vacancies:
Facilities Assistant/Handyperson [based in Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield]
Fixed Term Contract for 12 months
15 hours per week
Salary £6,621 per annum [pro rata £15,450]
The post holder will support the Quality & Facilities Manager with their responsibility for facilities management and also undertake some small handyman jobs for the Firstcall Tradesperson & Handyman Service.
Due to the nature of this post, a car owner/driver will be required.
There is potential scope to increase hours by further work for the Handyman Service in the future.
Duties of the post include assisting with:
Enquiries from within AC Birmingham relating to facilities management, including the Boldmere office and two managed community centres in other parts of Birmingham.
Executing requests for maintenance directly with contractors.
Obtaining quotations from suppliers and contractors as required.
Raising purchase orders for supplies.
Keeping inventories up to date.
This post also requires:
General assistance in Reception, answering incoming calls and meeting and greeting visitors.
Some weekly work with ACB’s Firstcall Tradesperson and Handyman service, carrying out small handyman jobs for clients.
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be undertaken for this role.

Receptionist / Administrator
Fixed term contract for 12 months
25 hours per week
Salary £10,714 pro rata [£15,000 per annum]
The primary purpose of this position is to act as the front line person at Age Concern Birmingham’s Boldmere office, for personal callers and by telephone. This is a key position which requires empathy, tact and understanding and the ability to make people feel genuinely welcome from the moment they step through the door.
The holder of this position is also required to provide administrative support to staff based at the Boldmere office, under the direction of the Administration Manager.
