Age Concern Birmingham has a wide range of job opportunities offering the satisfaction of helping to improve the quality of life for older people in Birmingham. We also offer a comprehensive learning and development programme, to enable staff to develop their skills and knowledge. By joining us, staff become part of a leading independent charity providing local services and support for older people, carers and others in need.

AGE CONCERN BIRMINGHAM VACANCIES

Operations and Development Manager
Full time hours : 37.5 hours per week
Salary : £25,000.00 per annum

Age Concern Birmingham is looking for an experienced enthusiastic and highly motivated Operations and Development Manager to join their current team. This is an exciting opportunity ensuring new and existing services are properly supported, managed and embraced within the existing structure of the organisation. The role is diverse and the post holder will be at the forefront of activity and will thus be expected to have a wide range of transferable skills.  Flexibility, flair and innovation are key in making this a successful appointment. If you have the skills and knowledge required, with a proven track record in an associated setting then this could be the next challenge for you.

Cook
9 hours per week - Thursday and Friday
(Additional hours including holiday cover required on an occasional basis]
£3,365 per annum [pro rata £13,086]

This role involves the preparation, presentation and service of meals within a Lunch Club and Day Centre for older people whilst maintaining a well organised, safe and smooth running kitchen.
A current Food Hygiene certificate is essential. You will also be qualified to NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Catering or at least working towards it.

Voluntary Trustees Needed

Age Concern Birmingham is looking to expand its Trustee Board.  General life experience is seen to be of high importance, with qualifications as secondary. Meetings are held quarterly during office hours at ACB’s Boldmere office.

Handyperson Service

Age Concern Birmingham offers a Handyperson service across Birmingham.
We are looking for experienced handypersons who would like to work in partnership with us on a flexible subcontracting basis to meet the demands of the service.
You must have up to date public liability insurance, be able to provide references to show the quality of your work and ideally have an up to date DBS check, although we can apply for this on your behalf.
We offer good rates of pay.
