Age Concern Birmingham has a wide range of job opportunities offering the satisfaction of helping to improve the quality of life for older people in Birmingham. We also offer a comprehensive learning and development programme, to enable staff to develop their skills and knowledge. By joining us, staff become part of a leading independent charity providing local services and support for older people, carers and others in need.

AGE CONCERN BIRMINGHAM VACANCIES

Receptionist / Administrator [based in Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield]
Part Time
25 hours per week (9.30am to 2.30pm)
Salary £10,714 pro rata [£15,000 per annum]

The primary purpose of this position is to act as the front line person at Age Concern Birmingham’s Boldmere office, for personal callers and by telephone. This is a key position which requires empathy, tact and understanding and the ability to make people feel genuinely welcome from the moment they step through the door.

The holder of this position is also required to provide administrative support to staff based at the Boldmere office, under the direction of the Administration Manager.

Operations and Development Manager
Full time hours : 37.5 hours per week
Salary : £25,000.00 per annum

Age Concern Birmingham is looking for an experienced enthusiastic and highly motivated Operations and Development Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity as the role is diverse and the post holder will need experience of management within the social care sector and successful track record in funding applications and bid writing.  If you have the skills and knowledge required, with a proven track record within a social care setting then this could be the next challenge for you.

Carers Hub Information Officer
Maternity Cover
Part Time - 30 hours per week - Monday to Friday [current shift pattern: 12.00pm – 6.00pm] * please note that the shift pattern could change dependent upon the needs of the Carers Hub
Salary : £15,600.00 pro-rata [£19,500 per annum]

The primary purpose of this position is to be a key member of the Carers’ Hub team providing free personal, confidential and accurate information, support and advice to carers in a variety of care situations. Engaging in the identification of carers to improve life opportunities round well-being, access to training, education and employment and supporting young carers through transition to adult services.

The holder of this post is required to have a detailed knowledge of welfare benefits relating to carers of all ages and in addition must have a good understanding of the needs and requirements of carers.

Good IT skills are essential as is the ability to relate to, communicate and empathise with people from different backgrounds and cultures.

Voluntary Trustees Needed

Age Concern Birmingham is looking to expand its Trustee Board.  General life experience is seen to be of high importance, with qualifications as secondary. Meetings are held quarterly during office hours at ACB’s Boldmere office.

Handyperson Service

Age Concern Birmingham offers a Handyperson service across Birmingham.
We are looking for experienced handypersons who would like to work in partnership with us on a flexible subcontracting basis to meet the demands of the service.
You must have up to date public liability insurance, be able to provide references to show the quality of your work and ideally have an up to date DBS check, although we can apply for this on your behalf.
We offer good rates of pay.
