Community Wellbeing Cook & Supporter
Based at Phoenix Court, Castle Vale
(including covering at other services across the city when required.)
Mon/Fri 4 hours with alternate Sundays 4 hours
(Additional working hours will be required to meet the demands of the service as it develops)
£7.65 per hour
Fixed Term Contract to 1st
April 2015 with possible extension
Responsible for planning, purchasing, preparing, cooking and serving all food and beverages to the standard required of Age Concern Birmingham, with a focus on healthy eating and wellbeing to residents of Phoenix Court and the Wellbeing Centre clients, as well as maintaining a well organised, safe and smooth running kitchen.
To offer support and guidance to residents and clients on healthy eating and meal planning to maintain independence and wellbeing on a 1-1 basis and through workshops
To offer a healthy meal service accessible to the residents of Castle Vale
Essential Qualifications:- NVQ Level II Catering and Hospitality (Food Preparation and Cooking) or equivalent
Health and Hygiene (advanced certificate) or equivalent

Age Concern Birmingham offers a Handyperson service across Birmingham.
We are looking for experienced handypersons who would like to work in partnership with us on a flexible subcontracting basis to meet the demands of the service.
You must have up to date public liability insurance, be able to provide references to show the quality of your work and ideally have an up to date DBS check, although we can apply for this on your behalf.
We offer good rates of pay.
